What is the difference between having a GMail ID and a GoogleMail ID?

My Google ID ends with a googlemail.com instead of a gmail.com
What is the difference between having a GMail ID and a GoogleMail ID?

Reply:The original name was Gmail, however there is a legal battle going on between Google and another company who use the term "gmail", so now google have changed all their email accounts for new users to Googlemail.

well both are the same.





in reality its only GMAIL which stands for Google mail
Reply:They're the same. US has @gmail.com and I think UK has the @googlemail.com
